Dan Fitzpatrick


Dan is a corporate communications professional with 23 years’ experience of both in-house and agency roles in support of multi-national companies across banking, financial services, insurance, technology, and professional services in Australia and Southeast Asia.

Across that time, he has had extensive experience in working with a myriad of stakeholders including regulators, central banks, shareholders, government and advocacy bodies.

Before founding Via with Tala, Dan, was with HSBC from 2011 to 2023 where he led internal and external-facing teams focused on investment, commercial and retail banking communications in Australia & New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia with a particular emphasis on supporting CEOs and business executives with their leadership and customer communication and commercialisation needs. He also led HSBC’s thought leadership content origination and development for the wider Southeast Asia region over that time.

Prior to HSBC, Dan led the Reserve Bank of Australia’s media office. He has also held communications roles at Macquarie Bank, KPMG, Insurance Australia Group and Spectrum Communications agency supporting clients including Intel, Dell and Microsoft.

Dan has been a passionate supporter of underdog sections of his local community. Since his teens, Dan has worked as a front-line volunteer in counselling of at-risk and displaced youth within the inner Sydney area, with a particular emphasis on supporting Indigenous youth.

Tala Booker


Tala is a bold and astute Communications executive who brings vision and disciplined execution to complex and ambitious brand challenges.

Her courage, energy and integrity win the trust of stakeholders and inspire teams to consistently outperform. Tala has successfully supported CEOs and Boards navigate complex geopolitical situations, and on sustainability and ESG issues, litigation, and investor activism.
Before founding Via with Dan, Tala was Managing Director and Global Head of Communications for Commercial Banking at HSBC Holdings Plc – a US$7bn operation spanning 53 markets.
During her 12 years at HSBC, Tala led the integrated brand, marketing and communications launch of HSBC Innovation Banking, propelling HSBC into the tech ecosystem, corporate reputation building projects within China and wider Asia Pacific, and designed several marquee global campaigns.  She has led Communications teams in major financial centres including New York, Hong Kong, Sydney and London.
Like many fellow Trojans (Fight On), Tala is proud graduate of the University of Southern California where she majored in Communications, with a minor in News, Media and Society.
A mother of two, outside of work and family, Tala is a keen tennis player. She loves travel, cooking, public speaking and listens to far too many podcasts.
A first-generation Persian American, Tala is actively advocating for the brave women and men supporting the #womanlifefreedom movement in Iran.
